Admission Policies

Shiv Modern School is a well ordered, caring community in which relationships are based on mutual respect, and rules are applied consistently and fairly. We value the pursuit of academic excellence, the achievement of the individuals’ potential and contributions made to the life of the wider community. We encourage our children to develop self-discipline and respect and value the achievements, values and beliefs of others. We help our children to understand themselves and others, and to seek significance and purpose in all their experiences. Our values are reflected in all our policies and in the attitudes and conduct of our staff.

 

Admission Policy

1. For admission to Nursery, the child should have completed 3 years as on 31st March in the year of admission.
2. Incorrect or false information will automatically disqualify the candidate.
3. The registration form duly filled and received by the school office does not guarantee admission.
4. A student seeking admission is required to produce the following certificates at the time of admission:
   -Municipal Birth Certificate
   -Copy of Aadhaar Card
   -School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate. (For Admissions sought in KG and above)
   -Progress Report of the last class attended.(Applicable for admissions in KG and above)
   -Two latest passport size colour photographs of student and parents.

 

School Rules

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE STUDENTS

*Come to school clean, well-groomed and in proper uniform with well-polished shoes.
* Be proactive in promoting and working towards making school a positive, supportive, safe and welcoming place for all the students and teachers.
*Be courteous, respectful and considerate to parents, teachers, elders etc.

* Make every responsible effort to participate actively in the activities of the school.
*Look after the school property, help to keep it clean, avoid all marks on the walls and furniture.
*The Medium of instruction is English and students are expected to communicate in English at all times.
*Cover all books and notebooks neatly with the name, standard and section clearly mentioned on them.
*Take pride in doing personal jobs like-setting of bag, polishing shoes, maintenance of books, washing, ironing uniform, handkerchief etc. on your own.
*Students will keep the school premises clean and refrain from littering.

*Have a sense of belongingness with the school, house you are attached with and the various activities held in the school.

*Show pride in your school and present a good image especially by behaving yourself when in public and particularly on your way to and from school.
*Move quickly and quietly from class to class avoiding unnecessary disturbance.
*Unacceptable behavior including but not limited to irregular attendance, academic,
dishonesty, disruptive behavior, loitering and disrespectful behavior towards staff or fellow students will result in serious disciplinary action.
*Co-operate with the class monitor in maintaining order and discipline during a change of period & when the teacher happened to be absent or late.
*In the boundary of school wall you are a developing Indian and it is your moral duty to follow the norms of the school.

ATTENDANCE

*It is compulsory for all students to complete 75% attendance before every exam to make them eligible to sit for the examination, in case attendance is short, students will not be eligible for promotion/ any academics award.
*All children are expected to attend school on the opening day after every vacation and must be present before closing for the vacation. Those absent because of sickness must submit a medical certificate before joining the class.
*A child suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to class.
*Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than six days consecutively will render the student liable to have his/her name struck off the roll. Re-admission fee is Rs.500/- 

 

GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS

*Parents should carry out their responsibilities as educator in instilling in their children respect and strict obedience for all school rules and regulations.
*Students should always wear their School ID card.
*Parents are requested to go through their wards school diary regularly and sign the teacher’s remarks, if any.
*Parent Teacher meetings must be regularly attended to discuss the performance and progress of the child.
*Parents must check that the child carries books/not books according to time table.
*Children should do their home work by themselves unless they require some guidance.
*For the best result parents must motivate and support their child establish a proper study area. Home work must be given a priority in the daily schedule.
*In case home work has not been completed by the due date then it should be communicated clearly to the class teacher with reason that why the work was not done.
*Encourage your ward to read good books or play outdoor games, instead of viewing TV.
*Parents are requested not to accompany their wards to the class rooms at arrival time. At dispersal time they should collect their wards from the school gate.
*Parents are not permitted to meet teachers during school hours. In special cases, parents may be allowed to meet the teacher with prior permission from the principal/ academic incharge.
*Parents should ensure that their wards do not bring any objectionable material that may violate the disciplinary norms of the school. Otherwise the same will be destroyed in the presence of the student.
*Parents are requested to refrain from sending lunch boxes/ notebook of their wards during school hours.
Parents are requested to send their ward in neat and clean uniform.
*Parents are requested to inform the school if there is any change in address or mobile numbers.
*Please do not give mobile phone to your child. If student is found carrying a mobile phone, it will be confiscated and a heavy fine will be imposed.
*Encourage your ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
*Criticism of a teacher of the school in presence of a child must be scrupulously avoided as it causes students to lose respect for their teacher with the consequent failure to learn from her, thus retarding the child’s progress.
*Parents should use the “Leave Record” form in the diary when applying for leave or explaining the absence of their children.
